Problem Solving, Inquiry & Learning

GATE Academy’s mission is to provide gifted children with an inquiry-based accelerated education that allows them to learn at their own pace, rather than at standard grade level. Through the practice of inquiry investigation, our kids learn how to learn anything. 

GATE Academy students are expected to develop the ability to ask meaningful questions on any topic. They are taught to investigate answers as well as uncover deeper meanings.  They practice the tasks of synthesizing their work in a written or visual form that summarizes their investigation and conclusions. And, our students learn to teach others and explain the substance of their investigative work to them. 

GATE students acquire excellent skills in critical thinking, quantitative and qualitative analysis, and effective communication. When our students graduate they are masters of investigation.  They are also mindful of themselves, respectful of others, and positive contributors to a community of learning.  See our Student Code for more details.
